I could have answered SOS Brigade, but since I do QC for Lililicious, I figured that Yamayurikai was more appropriate. ^_^

Really? That's great! I recently finished watching Marimite and Marimite-Haru... thank you! (And Mai-Otome, too, and I've got Amanda hooked on Mai-HiME at the moment.)

I don't suppose there's any chance of getting Lillilicious to pick up Simoun, is there?

Lililicious is doing scalations of manga exclusively right now. We're doing the Marimite manga, RoV, Oniisama E, and a bunch of racier stuff.

Doremi is the only group I know of doing subbing on Simoun, and I'm none to impressed with their translation.

One of my bestest pals here in C-bus does QC for Static-Subs, and was one of the lead QCs for Mai-Otome, and has her own scalation group (that I also do QC for), as well.

What I'm watching right now: Haruhi Suzumiya, Ouran High School Host Club and Simoun; with a couple other possibilities getting added in, as well. Ouran High School Host Club has all kinds of gender-y and yuri/yaoi subtext. And it's quite amusing so far.

*points to the ChiexAoi icon* I made that myself, by the way. ~_^

Doremi is trying to recruit me to do QC for Simoun... what kind of time commitment do you find that doing QC takes?

I'm also watching Ouran Host, Suzumiya, and Simoun, as well as NANA; I've dropped Strawberry Panic as unwatchable.

For scalations the time commitment can vary, depending on how long the works I'm checking are. If it's an 8-page doujinshi, it's pretty minimal. If it's a 40-page manga chapter, it takes about an hour or so.

With anime, it's probably going to be matter of at least the 30 minutes for the episode for each QC pass. I know that Static has at least 2 passes for most episodes, but they've had as many as 5 for others. I know that my friend Tara checks things like timing, encoding, and so on.

How is it that Doremi is trying to recruit you? Do you spend time in their channel on irc? If you do, you should join the #STATIC-SUBS sometime, and get to know those people. And while you're on rizon, join #lililicious and #otenba, where I lurk. ~_^

As for what you're watching, I haven't decided on NANA yet. I read the first chapter of the manga in Shoujo Beat and wasn't terribly impressed. But where Strawberry Panic is concerned, People Whose Opinions Matter To Me (such as Erica Friedman) soundly panned it as a piece of rubbish, so I haven't even bothered with it. I heard that it caters to the Drooling Loser Fan Boy demo in the yuri fandom. Ugh.

Static is supposed to be working in co-operation with another group on Uwatawarumono (I think I have that name right, it's something akin to that, anyhow), and my friend Tara says it's good. I'm just waiting on Static's release, since their work seems to be pretty high quality.

I had friends asking tonight if I would be up for AN. I had to inform them that I'm not going to be able to. Working Saturday-Wednesday makes it hard to hit the con circuit. Especially with no vacation until one year in. *sigh*

Anyhow, I'm going to wrap this up...ja!

Oh, and Lililicious has an LJ community where new releases are announced. Look for it in my user info.

Howdy Futabachan, I figured I could give LJ a try. Nice blog you got here.

I voted for SOS-dan, though I'd also vote for The Five Evils' Gaming Club. I'm not saying that one's better than the other, just that I'd like to survive the Watanagashi Festival, thank you very much.
