- As a child, who was your favorite superhero/heroine? Why?
Electro Woman and Dyna Girl, because a (girl) friend of mine in the neighborhood always liked to play EW&DG with me, and that was one of my few chances to at least pretend to be a girl. (Honorable mention: the Wonder Twins.)
- What was one thing you always wanted as a child but never got?
When I was 5, Dad promised me a trip to Africa for my 15th birthday. 15 came and went, and 35 is going to come next year. Hmm... perhaps I should take him.
- What's the furthest from home you've been?
Well, I used to live in Belgium, so that sort of doesn't count... except that Mom, Dad, and I visited there in 1997, when I lived in Cleveland. I'd have to check the mileage as to whether Cleveland-Belgium is farther than Rochester-San Diego.
- What's one thing you've always wanted to learn but haven't yet?
One thing? It's so hard to pick just one... fluency in a foreign language would probably be my first choice, but better skill with analog electronics comes in a close second. (Perhaps Amanda and I could spend more time practicing our French.) Learning to fly is pretty far up there, too.
- What are your plans for the weekend?
Tonight: Sarah Slean. Tomorrow: pulling cable to get my office wired, then porting GNOME 2.2 if I have time. Sunday: D&D. If Amanda is free, though, a visit to Palenville on Saturday and Sunday for Imbolc might be a better plan.

There's a gorgeous three-masted staysail schooner sailing around in the harbour that I haven't seen before. (Not the three-masted tourist schooner;…
