Back from polycon...

...which totally rocked. There are a whole bunch of folks who weren't there, which was sad-making, but I had a truly wonderful time with the folks who did show. There are a few people who I wish I'd had a chance to get to know better; in most cases, that was due to both of us being shy, I think. bcholmes, the_siobhan, and company did a truly wonderful job of organizing the thing, and everything really gelled well. This was also the first polycon where I actually stayed in the hotel (in fact, our room was two doors down from the con suite), and that really helped, a lot. In particular, I felt really disconnected from apc9 because I stayed at linuxspice's apartment half an hour away, and wound up missing most of the programming and hanging out.

The sucky part was having to leave; we've come to the conclusion that at some point, we want to go to Toronto and not come back. We'll have to see how things work out with employment and with Canadian immigration.

No joy on hooking up with schillerium, either, but we'll be back next weekend for WorldCon and the Ex and other related stuff. And, hey, if we wind up actually living there, there'll be plenty of time. Even if we don't, ferry service starts in the spring, which will most likely make us extremely frequent visitors.
