They really did it!

Reduction to 67 points is effective immediately!

Without me finishing my degrees, we already had 73 points, before applying any French proficiency -- so we're now in, regardless of my degrees or the remedial French that we were going to do this fall. The article mentions 80 as a high target that was discussed at one point; if I get my degrees, we'll have that, easily.

This radically alters where I target my job search, I think....

I might be able to make it if I brushed up on my rusty French. deyo could, maybe, if he had pre-arranged work. Neither of us have 4-year degrees.

I'm glad it's opening up for you. :)

Yeah, the degree thing is a Really Big Deal to them -- with me as the primary applicant with my degrees, we get 83-85 points, depending on how we score on French proficiency. Without them, we get 63-65 if I'm the primary applicant, and would need arranged work or some really serious remedial French and a 67 target. With Amanda as the primary applicant, we get 73 plus whatever credit they give us for French, which should be at least two points.
